I Am Legend Sequel?

Last week the trailer was released for the fourth instalment of the Bourne movies. The Bourne Legacy will be released on August 3rd and the big difference with this one from the other three is that The Bourne Legacy will not be starring Matt Damon but Jeremy Renner. When I first heard this news I wasn't to happy. Matt Damon is Jason Bourne! No one will ever be as good as Matt Damon! But when I came to terms with the news after a while I was quite excited to see how Jeremy Renner will add his touch on the famous american character. The way I see it is that Jeremy Renner is the much more badass version of Matt Damon. If you look at both of their last three big movies. Renner is the big, bad character in all of them. Where as Matt Damon is just the Dad who bought a zoo and an animated penguin. Renner is defiantly the man for the job. I've seen The Town and he did great, I've seen Mission Impossible: Ghost Protocol and he did great and I've seen the Hurt Locker and he did great. So with the track record he has so far I am sure that he will be capable of pulling off Jason Bourne.

The trailer for the Bourne Legacy is here.

And now we move on. During the week Michael Bay confirmed the release date of the fourth and probably not final Transformers. This news didn't really make me to happy. Don't get me wrong  I love the current Transformers trilogy but I am starting to get the feeling that Bay is just milking it out so that he can keep his fame as the Transformers director and he can keep pulling in the dollars. If you ask me the Transformers movies are perfect right now. At the end of Dark of the Moon, Optimus Prime killed Megatron, putting an end to the war being carried out from the very first movie. I think if Bay brings out another movie there will have to be a few more titles that will start a whole new overall plot and as soon as you know it the once perfect Transformers series will have more movies under its belt the Rocky (which a potential seventh movie is being spoken about). Michael Bay, please dont kill Transformers for me. Oh, and the movie will be released June 27 2014.

The final story for today is about the 2007 movie I Am Legend. During the week there was talk for a sequel/prequel to the huge blockbuster. It was reported that Deadline Studios has closed deals with Will Smiths team and some other production companies to make a second movie. Deadline Cinemas says that the film is not going to be called a prequel but it will bring back Will Smith as Robert Neville. I have never gotten around to seeing I Am Legend but I am sure that the sequel will be a big success considering the original movie was made for $150 million but pulled in more then $580 million in the box office, more then tripling the cost to make it. We will just have to wait and see what unfolds in the news about this in the following months.
